October 5, 2006 – “WAITING” FOR GOD’S PERFECT WILL IN OUR LIVES

God wants us to know that He has plans for our life and we are to live expectantly and in faith.  God made a covenant with us: if we love him with all our heart and are determined to walk according to His perfect will, everything that happens to us will work together for our good and His perfect will for us.  Rom 8:28  and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.   He puts plans within us that cause us to wonder and dream about what He means.  Phi 2:13  for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. Our purposes and imaginations are God oriented if we are fully walking with Christ who is in us.  Be sure of this one thing:  Phi 1:6  being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

“Waiting” is never “wasted” time in God.  During the waiting process He is changing our natures, desires, ambitions, etc.  God sometimes tells us things years in advance of the fulfillment.  He then repeats his message to us many times while we wait.  We wonder and can’t figure it all out.  God is waiting for the “fullness” of time.  He prepares us to be ready, the timing for the work must be perfect, and those that are to be recipients of the work must be in place with their hearts prepared to receive.  Everything happens in the “fullness of time.” Eph 1:10  to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment – to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.  Gal 4:4  but when the time had fully come, God sent his son, born of a woman, born under law

God never lets His promised blessings be stamped out by time.  I have learned to quit trying to figure God out and to “take up my cross and follow him” knowing that He is working out everything for my good.  I have waited for over twenty years to find out what God meant when He told me “your ending work will be greater than in the beginning.” Now I know that it is the “website” He will use for His glory.  I considered my abilities useless, my age a huge handicap, and everything in my life pointed to “nothingness” apart from Christ who dwells within me.  I finally rested in him, and all of His promises are now being fulfilled.  Looking back, those years were not wasted, but brought me to a spiritual understanding and faith that are sorely needed for the path ahead. HEB 13:20  May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,  21  equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
