TAKE THE TIME AND OPPORTUNITY NOW TO KNOW HIM!
The truth of God (Bible) teaches us that no man is born “good,” and that God alone is good. “So He said to him, ‘Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God’” (Matthew 19:17). Our righteousness is given to us by God when we believe in our heart that Christ died for our sins and rose again to give us eternal salvation. We cannot establish our own righteousness (right standing with God). “For they (MANKIND) being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes” (Romans 10:3-4).
The deceiver of all mankind would have us believe that there are many roads leading to God. God’s word declares that Christ is the “way, the truth, and the life!” “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved”(Acts 4:12).There is only one message that “saves man” and that is the message of Christ’s salvation and love for all mankind. We have a responsibility to take that message to the world. If you are an unbeliever, do not gamble your life on the lies of Satan. When we believe in Christ as our Savior, He sends His Spirit and truth to bear witness within us of our salvation. THERE CAN BE NO GREATER WITNESS THAN THE SPIRIT OF GOD HIMSELF TESTIFYING WITHIN US THAT WE ARE SAVED AND THE CHILDREN OF GOD.“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together” (Romans 8:16-17).
Do not trust your eternal soul to anyone but Jesus Christ and God the Father. The creator of all life originates all truth, and He alone knows the way to God. His word is truth, and it is God’s Spirit that comes alive in us, bringing us into a life in God Himself. The apostle Paul said, “I know Him in whom I have believed!” “…for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day” (2 Tim 2:12).
God’s salvation for all of us is not an “I hope so or I guess so!” Our salvation is an “I know so!” “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also” (1 John 2:20-23).
Our relationship with God the Father and Jesus Christ is a reality of truth that speaks and witnesses to our spirit. There is a supernatural power that flows from His Spirit to ours. I have seen God’s miracles. I have experienced supernatural works, dreams and visions. When we walk with Him, there are rivers of living water that flow from Christ to us. The more we seek Christ the more we receive from Him. Many “have not” because they have “asked not!” God wants us to know Him in the depths of our soul and experience His life living within us. “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life” (Jude 1:20-21).
There are times when we must walk by faith to strengthen and prove our faith and trust in Him. He always dwells within, and He manifests Himself to us in the situations of life as He chooses. I have not personally seen Him, but I often experience the presence of His Spirit at work in my soul and spirit. I have seen the results of His supernatural works within and around me. One of the constant witnesses to His presence is answered prayer. If you are lacking His signs and wonders in your own life, it is usually because of a lack of asking, seeking, and knocking on God’s door. Unconfessed sin in our life will block God’s presence. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind” (James 1:5-6).
God has many gifts to give His children. The gifts of the Spirit and faith are necessary to do a supernatural work of God. Have you asked God for His gifts for service?” (1 Corinthians, Chapter 12.) “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of His creatures” (James 1:17-18).
You cannot have a deep relationship with someone without wanting and seeking it with all your heart. Yet, we often fail to seek God’s presence with all our heart. God is the giver of the faith and power to move mountains. He alone knows the plans and purposes He has chosen for our life. Are we asking God to reveal the work and life He has planned for us? We don’t receive His salvation or gifts automatically. God’s law is that we must “Ask, seek, and knock until we receive.” “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8).
“Time” and opportunity are precious and cannot be retrieved! Our time is either productive or wasted depending on whether it is used for God or whether it is consumed by the desires of our flesh. The settings and opportunities to work for God are presented by Him at His perfect timing and can be snatched from us if we delay. The coming of a new season marks the beginning of a new work. God sets our times and seasons to coincide with His immediate work, and we cannot afford to let them pass. “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods” (Matthew 24:45-47).
“Now” is all the time we have to “live and work for the glory of God and receive His eternal rewards.” We do not know what even a day will bring forth. Our work on earth for God’s kingdom will determine our rewards and work assignments throughout eternity. We are running a race and working for the prize of the “high calling of God in Christ Jesus!” There is no reward or attainment on earth to compare with God’s eternal rewards. “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works” (Matthew 16:27).
Let us pray: Our Father in heaven, “Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Work Your works through me. Help me to do the works that You have ordained for me. Cleanse and purify me and make me worthy of Your great love and help me to leave nothing undone that You have called me to do. May my heart and mind be set on You. Help me to keep my eyes fixed on You and my ears in tune with Your Spirit. Help me to tell others of Your great love. Gift me with the gifts I need to win others to You and help me through Your power to break the bonds of the captives. Without You I can do nothing, but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Help me to glorify Your name. I want to lift You up before the world so You can draw all men unto Yourself. May all be done for Your glory alone. I love You. Amen.
