September 14, 2006 – ARE YOU COVERED?

Every person born on this earth will make a choice about their destiny.  We can choose between being covered by God now and forever or making it on our own surrounded by the forces of satan and his sure destructions. There is only one protector and only one name that can save us from the punishment we all deserve and deliver us from the evil one.  Acts 4:12  Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.  We are to ask the Lord to deliver us from the evil one. Matthew 6:13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

I marvel at the promises and preparations God has made for His children.  I can only imagine the extent of His majesty, power, and glory that we will know and experience. Revelation 19:11  I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 13  He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.  14  The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. REV 19:16  On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

The only permanent power that satan can have over a child of God is the power we willingly or ignorantly give him. When we are under God’s covering the only way satan can get to us is if we step outside of that covering or if God allows us to be tested for our good.  Satan must ask God’s permission to try or test one of God’s children. Disobedience to God makes us vulnerable to satan.

Satan on the otherhand, offers only lies and deception to those he courts. He promises to give the “kingdoms of this world” to those that serve him but he does not own them.  Satan’s lease on the kingdoms of this world is temporary.  Revelation 20:10  And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Satan’s destiny has been set from the beginning of time; the only thing he can truly promise is, “a lake of fire” for those who let him rule over them.

Let us talk about the marvelous promises of God.  The most important covering we can have is the blood of Jesus Christ that covers all our sins. We must ask God to save us and make us a child of God. We sign our contract with God in the blood of the lamb of God. Our contract of life is marked, “forgiven, debts cancelled, and sins buried (never to be remembered again).” Jesus’ blood cleanses us and we are sealed by His spirit, making us a member of the family of God with all of its rights and privileges.

What are those family rights?  If we have received the family seal (the Holy Spirit) we are now royalty and we are to walk and talk as children of the king. The shadow of God is our covering. Pslams 91:1  He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  He will deliver us from any traps or snares of the enemy for He is our refuge. His word will be our shield.  We shall not fear terror or destructions by night or day. His perfect love will take away the fear of pestilence or any other arrow of satan. Though a thousand fall at our side or ten thousand at our right hand, our covering protects us. Though death overshadows us, we will fear no evil. Tribulations will come but God is our deliverer and everything will work together for God’s perfect will in our lives.  Our father will work every evil for our good.

He has promised that only with our eyes will we see the reward of the wicked.  He will deliver us from the evil one and He shall give His angels charge over us.  God has promised us a royal place in His kingdom. Revelation 20:6  Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.    Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

The anger of God is soon to be poured out on this sinful world, but we are promised that we will escape His wrath.  Revelation 3:10   Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.    He is coming for His children and will meet us in the air.  1Thessalonians 4:16  For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  17  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.  We are going to be given glorified bodies, the curse of death will be removed, and we will dwell with the Lord forever. 1Corinthians 15:49  And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we bear the likeness of the man from heaven. We will have a royal part in the government of His eternal kingdom.  I believe that travel will not be a problem because we will be born on the wings of the spirit in the same way we will be resurrected.

God promises that we will be known as we are known. The curse of corruption will fall off our bodies and we will be eternally whole. Our whole body, soul, and spirit will be perfectly in tune to the voices and sounds of heaven.  One night, God allowed me to hear the voices and music of the heavenlies, and it was flawless. It was in perfect harmony and the sound was unlike any earthly music. There are no words to describe it.  We will see heaven, but I believe the beauty and perfection of it cannot be described because it is beyond description. God gives us all of His blessings and protection now, and the glory and perfection of living in His eternal kingdom.  1Corinthians 2:9  However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”

None of these promises can be given to those who have not made their calling and election into the family of God sure. No one can be “good enough” without the blood of Jesus Christ applied to their sins through God’s forgiveness and grace. Matthew 13:37  He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man.  38   The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one,  39   and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.  40   “As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.  41   The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.  42   They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.  43   Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.
